Roche

Designed by Mike Overton and animated/developed by Nick Haroldsen. The portal includes interactive rollover to engage the user with different typography as they explore the various programs within the navigation. It was a solution that wouldn't have been pulled off as well without the strong typography the rollover effects created.

Graphic Designer and Web Specialist

by Nicholas Thane Haroldsen

I am a creator. I am a dreamer. I do have goals and ambitions that I aspire toward. I do not settle for mediocre. I desire to continually progress, if I do not progress, I cannot grow nor affect the world around me. If I do not grow, then how can I create?

It is my philosophy to never let technology limit creativity. If you can think of it, it can be created. Nothing is impossible.

Background

I have always had a drive for art, design, as well as music. There is something powerful about creating things. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts a number of years ago. While attending school I had a great opportunity to work for WestWords, a textbook publishing company located in Logan, UT. I think this is where I learned the most about the production side of design.

After graduation, I landed a job in the Multimedia field at Icon Health & Fitness, also located in Logan, UT. This was a great move for me as it gave me video directing/editing/producing experience as well as a chance to learn from surrounding programmers whom I worked with to build sites for NordicTrack, ProForm, and other well-known brands. I was able to learn Flash more in-depth as well as create instructional workout DVDs for the many brands of IconFitness.

The two years spent at Icon as well as the years at WestWords prepared me for my current job at O.C. Tanner where I have been very happy as a Graphic Designer ever since. Here I have been great creative freedoms to explore many facets of design. I am their Flash specialist where much of what I design ends up in Flash. Although, I have many opportunities to design other medium, namely print. The greatest opportunity at O.C. Tanner is being able to design programs for such well-know fortune 100 clients such as MasterCard, FedEx, Whirlpool.
